Last Thursday afternoon, the OU Israel Center was forced to shut down. As a result, my Torah Class as well as others were canceled. The reason for the forced closure was the Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem. There is a verse in Devarim 28, “G-d will strike you with madness.”  This verse in the Torah is being fully and completely observed by our Politically Correct Leaders.

The Municipality of Jerusalem even placed the Gay Pride Flags on the entrance of the Great Synagogue and Yeshurun Central Synagogue! Is this not an act of spiritual terrorism and a gross CHILLUL HASHEM? Decent and G-d Fearing people are hesitant to speak the truth. However, the ME’IRI in AVOT  5:20 states, “One must always strive to uphold and speak the truth and to dispute anyone who attempts to corrupt the truth, because the truth fears no one.”

The Torah (Vayikra 18:22) considers homosexuality a TOEVAH (an abomination), a capital offence as heinous as incest and bestiality (Vayikra 20:13). The Torah juxtaposes, “You shall not lie with a man as with a woman, it is an abomination. You shall not lie with any animal to defile yourself, and the land itself became defiled by these acts, and the land itself vomited out its inhabitants. Therefore, do not do any of these abominable acts….. and do not become defiled through them, I am your G-d.”  (Vayikra 18:22-30) The Torah also states, “and a man that lies with another man as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination.” (Vayikra 20:13)

The phenomenon of Gay Pride and Gay Marriage is not a new one. The Rambam in the Laws of Forbidden Relations chapter 21, writes about the depravities and immorality of ancient Egypt. He says “A man would marry a man and a woman would marry a woman.” The institution of Gay Synagogues, while new, is a reflection of the age old desire of Jews to seek religious sanction for immoral conduct and behavior. These misguided Jews seek to assuage their conscience and to avoid feelings of guilt and shame for living their lives in a manner considered by the Torah to be abhorrent and an abomination.

Homosexuals are no less in violation of Halacha than those engaged in incest or adultery. To condone Gay behavior or Gay Groups under Jewish auspices makes no more sense, morally or Halachically, then to support Jewish groups that reach out to incest offenders and adulterers.
